Frequently
asked questions. Will
Glucobase record readings in mmol/l?
Yes. The options menu allows you to select reading units
and date format as well as your target range and the name to
print on the reports. For more information see Using GlucoBase PDA.pdf
What
are the limits on the readings I can enter?
The total number of readings you can store is limited only by
the size of your hard disk and the available memory on your
Palm. The program itself and two years of readings take
about 270K on the PDA. You can enter up to eight readings
per day. The highest reading you can enter is 699 mg/dl or
29.9 mmol/l. My
PDA doesn't have a lot of extra memory. How do I get rid
of my old readings?
You can use a conduit option to erase all readings from your PDA
that are more than 28 days old. The readings will still be
saved on the desktop. To activate this option, right click
on the hotsync icon in the Windows system tray. Select
'Custom' from the menu. Highlight Glucobase in the window
that appears and click 'Change'. Check the 'Delete old
readings on the palm' box and 'OK'. The next time you
hotsync, the old readings will be cleaned from your PDA.
We do not recommend that you leave this option on for daily
use. I
have hotsynced my PDA, but Logbook still shows me the sample
data.
Logbook remembers the last patient displayed for the
next time it starts. Select 'patient' under the 'File'
menu and choose your name from the drop down list. I
hotsynced my PDA but the Logbook display didn't change.
If Logbook is running when you hotsync, It doesn't know that new
data is available until the next time it checks the
database. You can force it to do this by opening your file
again from the 'File' menu or by changing a selection in the
'Categories' list. I
just installed Glucobase on my Windows 98 system. When I
start Logbook I get "Error 430".
On some Windows 98 systems it may be necessary to upgrade your
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). You should
download and install MDAC 2.5 sp1 from Microsoft
here

son takes insulin to control his blood sugar. Will
Glucobase work for him? Glucobase
is designed for Type 2 diabetes. It does not provide for
recording insulin doses. I
haven't found the answer to my question here. What do I do
now?
